Loch Avon in the Cairngorms National Park

Loch Avon in the Cairngorms National Park.

Loch Avon sits in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park and requires a certain degree of fitness to reach! After a day walking amongst these 4000 foot munros, it's a thought to climb back up Coire Raibert on Cairngorm, from Loch Avon to finish with!

We were lucky enough to be standing above the loch when 2 jets banked steeply round Bynack More flying low above the Loch before rising above Cairngorm. A magnificent sight.

On a sunny day in June walking for over 8 hours, we never met another soul in the Cairngorms until our return to the ski centre. Although I prefer it that way, I'd still like to see more visitors who love areas like the Lake District, take a walking holiday in Scotland and enjoy the solitude.
