Doune is an entirely authentic village with several good food and gift shops, a variety of places to eat, and most of all a genuine welcome. Doune Castle is familiar as the setting for Monty Python’s Holy Grail, and is well worth a visit, along with imposing Stirling Castle and the Wallace Monument. Ideally placed to explore Loch Lomond National Park or enjoy a walk in the hills looking out for red kites or deer. Pubs 50 yards. Living room with open fire.
