Originally the seat of Clan Macdonald in 1730 when they abandoned Duntulm Castle, it is reputed to have been the first slated house on Skye, and was described by James Boswell in 1773 as a ‘considerable building’. This single storey barn conversion is situated in the original steading, which includes a granary, stable, cartshed and mill – all of which have been sympathetically converted into holiday accommodation. The Stables make an ideal base for exploring the Isle of Skye, with Flora Macdonalds monument and ruined Duntulm Castle both nearby. The Quirang and Old Man of Storr offer unrivalled walking and climbing whilst the beauty, wildlife and numerous outdoor pursuits appeal to all ages. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles.
