Pine-lined walls and ceilings in the principal rooms combine with contemporary facilities to provide comfortable accommodation with a reminder of bygone country living; there is even an old drover’s road passing by the door. The area is renowned for its superb fishing and golf. There are restaurants and shops in Aboyne (4 miles), and many NTS properties, including Crathes Castle and garden.
