Bob Scotts Bothy at Derry Lodge in the Cairngorms certainly offers quality Self Catering!

Enjoyed good company as well as an excellent array of food and drink a couple of weeks ago in the Bothy which is run by the Mountain Bothies Association.

One of the pleasures of using bothy accommodation is the variety of colourful characters which you meet. On this particular stay, two young female teachers from Perth Grammar School were keeping a watchful eye over a silver group doing their Duke of Edinburgh Award Assessment. Throw in a young chap practising his knots and three rock climbers from Aberdeen Mountaineering Club who had cycled in from Braemar and it makes for an interesting evening!
