Much of the village is a conservation area with the traditional stone houses clustered around the harbour. Portknockie offers a relaxed stopover with plenty of fishing heritage to explore and activities such as walking, sailing, fishing, diving, cycling, golf, tennis and bowls available. It provides an excellent tourist destination for exploring this unspoilt region. Visit the Bowfiddle Rock a spectacular arch formation carved out by the rigours of the sea or wander along the coastal path and look out for dolphins, porpoises and occasionally killer and Minke whales.
