This spacious family house, Birch Tree Cottage, all on one floor, is ideally set in the heart of the Cairngorms National Park, backing onto quiet woodland, 1 mile from Carrbridge. Easy walks start here, or follow the National Cycle Track north. Aviemore is 7 miles, although predominantly known for its good skiing, it offers many other facilities including riding, watersports and golf. Grantown-on-Spey offers salmon and trout fishing on the Spey and Dunlnain rivers. Inverness, 23 miles, has castles, museums and walks along the river banks. A little further afield you will find the Glenlivet and Glenfarclas distilleries where you can take a guided tour and sample a free dram. The Cairngorm Mountains are within easy reach and the more energetic will find walks along paths whilst the less energetic can take the chair lift to the observation point, a short distance from the top, where you may catch a glimpse of a golden eagle or a wild cat. The Cairngorm Whisky Centre with its whisky making presentation and tasting room with over 100 brands is well worth a visit. Beaches and championship golf courses can be found in Nairn as well as numerous inexpensive golf courses in Carrbridge and neighbouring villages. Shops and pub 300 yards.
