Holiday Accommodation near Uig Isle of Skye

Holiday Accommodation near Uig, Isle of Skye. Reputed to have been the first slated house on Skye, Monkstadt was described by James Boswell in 1773 as a ‘considerable building.’ Nearby are servants’ houses and a U-shaped steading dated 1803-04 which includes a granary stable, cartshed and a mill with horse walk. Monkstadt has played a romatic role in highland history. The mainhouse of Monkstadt is now a ruin, however the steading has been renovated and the stables and granary have been sympathetically converted into first class holiday accommodation. This single storey stone cottage, The Stables, is an ideal base for exploring the mysterious Isle of Skye. Flora Macdonalds monument and ruined Duntulm Castle are nearby. The Quirang and Old Man of Stor encourage walkers and climbers whilst the beauty, wildlife and various outdoor pursuits appeal to all groups. Shop, pub and restaurant 3 miles. All on ground floor: Living room. Kitchen. 1 double bedroom. Bathroom with shower over bath and toilet.
