Faindouran Lodge Bothy Cairngorms National Park

Faindouran Lodge Bothy, Cairngorms National Park.

Another great weeks walking in Scotland. Covered a few miles in the Cairngorms National Park as well as walks in Sutherland and Caithness.

Faindouran Lodge is a fine Bothy where we overnighted on Saturday 4th July after climbing Bynack More and Creag Mhor. With the river Avon flowing gently past it really is in a prime location. Climbed Beinn a'Chaorainn Bheag, Beinn a'Chaorainn and Ben Macdui on way out to the Ski Centre. The previous Monday saw a perfect walk in perfect weather. Carn Etchachan, Creagan a Choire Etchachan, Derry Cairngorm, Stob Coire Etchachan, Beinn Mheadhoin, Stacan Dubhe before climbing up Coire Raibert on Cairngorm. Absolutely fantastic scenery with stunning views.

We stayed at Creag Mhor, a superb cottage in Aviemore, enjoying the sunny evenings in the garden. A wonderful week!
