Druimuachdar Pass Highest Point on Rail Network

Druimuachdar Pass, Highest Point on Rail Network.

Druimuachdar Pass, or Drumochter Pass is the highest point on the UK Rail Network at 1484 feet or 452 metres. As the road also rises to this height, it makes for easy access and fairly easy climbs on the local mountains. A nice round of four munros and a corbett can be accomplished in around six hours. The normal route starts from Balsporran Cottages and ends on the graceful munro of Sgairneach Mhor and imposing corbett of The Sow of Atholl. The views from these hills take you into some of the most remote country in Scotland.
